Название: NYC - Battery Park: SeaGlass Carousel The SeaGlass Carousel, a fish-themed carousel in Battery Park, opened to the public in 2015. The $16 million aquatic carousel, the work of work of New York architectural firm wxy architecture and the George Tsypin Opera Factory, conjures the Battery's history as the first home of the New York Aquarium, which was located in what is now Castle Clinton from 1896 to 1941. The synth-heavy versions of classical music for the three-and-a-half minute ride were composed by Teddy Zambetti, the director of music production at SiriusXM. The carousel is housed inside a 2,575 square foot pavilion. Riders sit inside one of thirty glowing fish, representing a dozen species, which lack the center pole of a traditional carousel. The space inside each fish features three speakers and a subwoofer. The fish sit atop three rotating platforms, which in turn sit on a fourth, larger one all operated by electric motors housed below the floor. Eighteen of the fish move up and down, in addition to around, using hydraulics.
