We didn't see the original Geysir go off, as it only spouts about once a month now, but we did see Strokkur, which went off about every five minutes while we were looking round. There are several geysers on the site, some of which spout, and some just bubble continuously. The water is hot enough to burn your hand as it comes out of the ground.
