John Sheehan when Tower Two collapsed. Sheehan managed to get out; Roma did not. He is the only fire patrol officer missing of the 18 who initially responded. His father, Arnie, a former fire patrolman and retired New York Police Department officer, was in the lobby of Tower Two when it collapsed. He escaped through a hole in the wall on the Liberty Street side. The New York Fire Patrol consists of about 100 employees based at three city stationhouses. Funded by companies that write fire insurance policies, the fire patrol's mission is to respond to calls and help salvage property.
